Description
York, Maine -- I had been waiting for this line of thunderstorms for four hours. The question was, would they hold up? Here it was 63°F and only 25 miles to the west it was still 80°F. Thunderstorms don't like cold, marine air very much.
Once I decided yes, they would make it, I went to my shooting spot, then realized I forgot my memory card. Went home (about a quarter of a mile away), got it, went to another shooting spot where there was better lightning, passed a better spot, then decided against the planned one. Went up a ways, turned around, and was heading back to find the best spot. I was almost there when it started to rain.
Conceding some amount of defeat, I went home and set up shop in my garage and did some trial pictures. Here's the only bolt picture.
